This is a vintage Japanese Black Lacquer smoking box that has Mother of Pearl Inlays on the lid. The box measures 9 1/4" x 4" x 1 3/4" tall. It has two separate compartments. One would hold a metal ashtray. There is another compartment for cigarettes that measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 7/8". In good condition.
