Brass/White Metal Miner’s Lamp Methane Finder #2

This is a brass and white metal and glass miner’s lamp for detecting methane gas. It was brought to the U.S. from England some time ago. When gas was detected, the light would shine brightly. The label on it  reads – Protector Lamp & Lighting Co. Ltd. - Type- Prestwich's Patent – Protector – Approved under Lighting Schedule B – Maker – Eccles, Manchester. It has a lock by the glass base and a hook to hang up with.
